Holiday Home

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

WELCOME TO MY HOME! Our Christmas decorations are done save and except the place settings for Christmas dinner. No gifts are wrapped, but that is next on my list. For now, I am joining Karla's party and sharing with you what I love about my holiday home. Enjoy your tour!

I'll be home for Christmas. . . . candlelight church service on the Eve, 4 excited kids opening presents early in the morning, dinner at home with our extended family, and amazement that another year has passed us by. Amid all the commotion that the season brings let's take the time to remember the reason for the season. . . .
I saved my favorite decoration for last. Below is a drawing done a few days ago by my 4 year old son. He calls it, "Baby Jesus in the Manger." That says it all.

All your decorations are lovely. I like all the pretty botanicals. Everything here, with the except of fire trees, is dry and brown this time of year. I love how the manger your son drew is rainbow colors.

I see your snowman and it is very much like my Santa, now where did you get that? I got mine at Home Sense which is the same company as your TJMax.

How beautiful all of your decorations are. I was scrolling down just loving it all and thinking "hey i wanna go and live at Cindy's house' and then I got to your last picture. What a fabulous drawing your 4 year old did. Through the eyes of a child we see what it's meant to be about. Enjoy christmas sharing the day with the one's you love.

Okay, you forced me out of lurkdom with those pink pointsettias! Oh my, oh my, they are absolutely, positively S-P-E-C-T-A-C-U-L-A-R! Where on earth did you buy them? I only hope (and pray) we have the same retailer here in Florida where I live because I HAVE to get some! (And your home looks festive and lovely too!)

Cindy@Cutepinkstuff said...

Good morning, Shari! I went CRAZY with the poinsettias this year. I found the pink ones at Lowe's Home Center and the yellow ones at Home Depot Home Center. My favorite local nursery only had red ones so I was ecstatic to find the pink and yellow foliage for a PINK CHRISTMAS! Thanks for coming out of lurkdom! Cindy

Cindy@Cutepinkstuff said...

Oh yes, Shari, I also bought some lovely pink poinsettias at Ralph's market and Trader Joe's. Good luck on your search!

Thank you Cindy! I ran right out to my local Lowes and they had the pink pointsettias. The 2.5 qt. were marked down to $2.98 each! They don't look quite as pretty and healthy as yours but nevertheless, I was thrilled to find them. I don't have a green thumb so hopefully I can keep them alive until Christmas. Let's see...only 11 more days. Yeah, I think I can, I think I can, I think I can! :D

Wow, those mosaic urns are stunning. Where did you find them?

Cindy@Cutepinkstuff said...

Wow, Shari! You are a lady on a mission! What a great price! I spent too much! I have a gallon sized poinsettia in my bedroom that is HUGE! I am nursing it until Christmas! Last year my neighbor gave me the most unusual PASTEL PINK poinsettia with the tiniest blooms. I planted it outside and it is doing better than last year when I first received it! It is still deciding whether to bloom in pink or in red. I think the soil and light have something to do with the color, but I'm not certain.
