Happy Thanksgiving!

We're cooking for 15 people this year.

 Possibly a daunting task, but having new Thanksgiving dishes makes it fun.  I bought the blue and white plates at Marshall's last year.  I patiently waited a year to use them.  (If I could find Thanksgiving dishes in PINK and white, I think I'd be the happiest homemaker this side of the Mississippi!)

 I love these Pottery Barn place card holders.  I have them for sale on my website, but I'm secretly hoping they don't sell so I can have them!

I bought the white crown plates at Home Goods. The lacy metal chargers I've had for years.  I don't have enough chargers for every guest, so only the ladies will have them.  The men won't appreciate their beauty anyway!

Love pumpkins. . . .pie, muffins. . . .

I forgot to post this photo of our Halloween pumpkins.  That's another reason why I like pumpkins, they carry over into Thanksgiving!  Hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween!

California Christmas

Well, it's difficult to think about Christmas when Halloween is next week, my roses are in full bloom and the temperature is in the 90's. 

  Yet, as fast as time flies, I know I better get started on some Christmas creations.

It Arrived!

The anticipation of a gift arriving in the mail is almost as exciting as the gift itself.  ALMOST!

Quick Fix?

I never thought I'd tire of the mustard yellow and white ceramic tiles above our fireplace. I was wrong. The pink corner cabinet was the catalyst. The tiles have been "bugging" me for awhile, but I didn't give much thought to changing them. It seemed like a big project and my husband would sure to be against it. I was wrong, again! Well, I came up with a quick fix using an old piece of ceiling tin that was inches from being a perfect fit. My husband and I did this quick fix in less that an hour! The next morning, I painted the side of our mantel where paint had scraped off during the fitting process. That led to painting the entire hearth and the gold trim on the glass doors, which led to changing out the wood knobs with glass knobs, which led to cleaning out the fireplace, which led to buying candles, which led to decorating the mantel with a few Halloween decorations, which led to buying a new love seat, which led to rearranging furniture, which led to accessorizing with crown accent pillows. Yes, another "quick fix" project that turned into a time-consuming expensive redo!

Holding On To Summer.

I'm clinging to the last days of summer. Enjoying my favorite bird feeder(s). Pink paper lanterns (they light up at night!) A cute flower pot even though it's empty! Sweet succulents (who knew I'd find PINK ones?) The curly details of my pink metal lanterns. Birds. . . fake, yet so cute!) Our sweet porch cat, Rex. He's my faithful morning friend.He loves sitting under the shade or our PINK umbrella. Uh oh, Rex sees something. . . .A yellow finch. . .real, and so cute! The same cute finch! Hard to believe he let me continue taking photos! I took at least a dozen! Sipping coffee (lots of cream and sugar, please!) in a pretty cup and saucer I purchased at a tag sale in Montana. When my coffee is coupled with a set of sticky page markers that can mean only one thing. My Cath Kidston Catalog just arrived in the mail! Look at all the pages I marked! Here's a preview of all the cute things inside! Oooooo...... Ahhhhhh...... So cute...... Dreamy. . . . . Back to school! Sew adorable. . . . I'd do more ironing if. . . . . Pink florals and more! I'd cook more if. . . . . I'd enjoy washing dishes if. . . . Okay, time to stop dreaming. My son is awake and wants to play Legos!
