My husband dreads the words, "I was just thinking. . . ." Those words always lead to another home improvement.
Our front entry had no place for coats and shoes. It's a small area where a hall tree would occupy too much space. So, I was thinking. . . . why not hang a panel of white bead board with vintage hooks directly on the wall?Behind the front door is prime real estate. It's otherwise wasted space and doesn't interfere with foot traffic. We bought the bead board and white paint at our local hangout, The Home Depot. I purchased the vintage wire hooks in Idaho ($1 each!) The shoe tray is from Home Goods ($8!)
I'm having so much fun hanging pretty things from the hooks!
Great idea! One can never have too many hooks.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!

Sure is a great idea.
ReplyDeleteto answer your question, no the walls are not beadboard...I am mad at myself, to save money...which I hate, I went with this other board, you can see it on my blog, which the paint isn't covering good. Beadboard and almost anything else was double the price of what I put up...but I would of been happier. I need to stop being so cheap...lol
ReplyDeletethis looks great! I have a small hallway just inside the front door where I placed a row of hooks. Here in AZ we don't wear jackets too often, but you're right about finding all sorts of stuff to hang on these hooks! dog leashes, extra keys, the occasional jacket, bike locks, pretty bags and doo-dads, so many ideas!!
ReplyDeleteThe hooks look great Cindy, and I love the heart and candles. Happy New Year to you my dear!
ReplyDeleteTake care,
Martha

So cute and practical too. Mimi
ReplyDeleteLove this idea and love hooks! I've used a row of big hooks and coathangers in one of our guest rooms instead of a wardrobe. Leigh

What a great idea. I have a small area when we enter the house from the gargage and wondered what I could do. I may just copy-cat! :)
ReplyDeleteCindy it looks FANTASTIC!!! I love beadboard and the hooks are a genius idea...we could use some of those over here!
ReplyDeleteMy husband dreads it when I start "just thinking" too :) He told me this morning that the problem is I never STOP thinking...that's the part he doesn't like...seems he thinks I spend my whole day just dreaming up new decorating projects...gasp!
Have a great weekend ~
:) T
