Once I get an idea in my head it consumes me. My husband will verify that! One day I decided to crochet some flowers. The last time I crocheted was about 7 years ago when I taught my daughter the skill. Well, I was walking through Joann's Fabrics one day when I saw this book. PERFECT! I spent hours selecting the right sized hooks and yarn. I began crocheting, then it all came back to me. One flower turned into several. Several turned into quite a few! Of course, this project didn't stop there. My crochet supplies had to have a home!
I purchased this large vintage sewing box at the Rose Bowl last year. Just a little white paint. . . and new glass knobs. . . . My favorite feature is the inside thread/bobbin tray! Now, it stores my yarn, hooks and scissors!

Please tell me I'm not the only one who can turn a simple idea into a time-consuming craft project AND a furniture makeover!

LYNN,I ENJOYED YOUR BLOG.HAVE A BLESSED WEEKEND!
Oooooo I just love your sewing box Cindy, gotta keep my eye out for something like that. I was consumed with knitting 2 years ago and have a huge stash of yarn just sitting there and hiding around the house so hubby doesn't see it all LOL, would love to learn how to crochet flowers, it's nice and relaxing to do something like that :)
How beautiful are those little flowers! I am sooooo glad there are other people out there like me that can't make "just one". I recently picked up some yarn on clearance and a knitting hoop and have been making scarves....my son commented on how long this "phase" would last....like the beads I was into last year! Love your yarn barn....hmmmm something to be on the lookout for! Cute stuff!
Nope, you aren't alone!! Love the crocheted pieces ~ you will be able to adorn many things with them!
Happy PINK Saturday!

Such cute flowers Cindy. You could attach them to a pink t-shirt for a little girl, and it would be so darling!
Have a great weekend.

the flowers are so sweet, and boy, what paint can do!!! looks awesome. :)
Cindy, Great flowers, wish I could do them! My biggest and most $$$ hobby/craft and has no doubt been scrapbooking! And whats funny is I think my pages are fairly simple! Cute market in the previous post. Catch you soon, Lori
The sewing box is wonderful, I wish my mom had something like that. She use to knit and always had a big tote of some kind. This would of been the ideal thing to have. The crochet flowers are really nice, but what are you going to use them for?
Have a nice day-
I take crocheted roses like this and use them for my stuff animals and dolls. I wish I had your talent of being able to crochet. So pretty...thanks for your inspiring blog.
Hi, I've just found your blog. I think we're all alike. Love the crochet flowers, very pretty and the box, well what could you do but paint it to fit in beautifully.
You have a lovely home.
I will drop by again.

You have inspired me to try my hand at making these pretty flowers. And of course, I will be obsessive compulsive and have to make a whole bunch of them. And what a great job you did on your sewing box. Looks great in white. Love your site!

DEAR CINDY,
I FOUND YOUR BLOG THROUGH CINDY AT ROMANTIC HOME.
I LOVE YOUR BLOG.
ON YOUR FEBRUARY 7, 2009 POST YOU HAVE TWO DIFFERENT PICTURES OF ANGELS. I WAS WANDERING IF I COULD USE THEM ON THE SIDE BAR OF MY BLOG WITH A SCRIPTURE...I WOULD PUT THE LINK TO YOU FOR WHEN SOMEONE WOULD TRY TO CLICK ON THE PICTURE AND THEY WOULD NEVER BE USED FOR ANY OTHER PURPOSE.
IF NOT I UNDERSTAND. I LOVE THE ANGEL SETTING AND READING.
ONCE AGAIN YOU HAVE A VERY BEAUTIFUL BLOG. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU POST MORE, AS IF WE HAVE NOTHING TO DO IN OUR LIVES BUT BLOG...LOL
BLESSINGS
HUGS

Oh NO, you are definitely not the only one!!! We were just laughing about this on the way to church...We only had dinner today because I obsess over decorating the table and my daughter obsesses over the food-we've got it covered!
Cute flowers, BTW!
