VALENTINE'S DAY 2013

I LOVE decorating for Valentine's Day!
Adding PINK decor to our home is always a pleasure.
The pink corner cabinet is one of my favorite pieces that is perfect for Valentine's Day.  It stays put all year long, though!
Minimal pink decor in my home office...a few balloons and candles.
This is a peek into the living room from the front screen door.
Pink roses drink from small glass vases atop a silver tray with a cornicopia of chocolates.
One of my favorite finds this year...a large metal heart hanging above the mantel.
Love my flying pig for a touch of whimsy.
A pink heart garland, a crystal garland and pink candles are in good company with a print of the late Audrey Hepburn.  I'll explain later in this post why Audrey Hepburn is featured on our mantel!
My friends were Queens for the day as they arrived for our Valentine breakfast.
Sweets and coffee to start our morning.
Madelines are inside the white pockets with pink crowns.
Raisin crisps, apricot rugalah, muffins and apple danish....Did you know that Audrey Hepburn disliked danish pastries?  Remember the opening scene of Breakfast at Tiffany's when Audrey Hepburn is looking inside the window at Tiffany's as she eats a danish pastry?  She wanted to eat an ice cream cone, but the director didn't think an ice cream cone was appropriate given the title of the movie!  Still you wonder why I'm referring, again, to Audrey Hepburn....giggle.
Pink roses and peanut M & M's....what could be better?
Our Valentine's Day theme this year....Breakfast at Tiffany's!  (Well, Breakfast at Cindy's.)
My closest circle of 11 friends gathered for egg casserole, salad, orange juice and pastries!  We all wore strands of pearls, pearl bracelets and sequined tiaras!  Truly Queens for the Day!
These photos were taken before my friends arrived.  Tiffany blue is a new decor color for me, but I LOVED IT!
I made the place cards with extra invitations cut in half, glued an Audrey Hepburn playing card to the front, and detailed the bottom with white feathers.  For the centerpiece I gathered several white tutu's, a beaded garland, candles and clear crystal gems.
For my friends' initials I used white letter stickers I had from my former days as a Creative Memories scrap booking  representative.
The grey dinner napkins are Jeanne d'Arc products from Denmark featuring a ballerina image and Bon appetite script.  (I have many of these pretty dinner napkins available on my .com)
The favor is a Tiffany blue box filled with chocolates, detailed with a white satin ribbon and a (faux) diamond ring.
I love serving special meals on my white crown plates!
Breakfast was served from this old white chippy tea cart.
After breakfast, we played some roudy rounds of Bingo and watched the movie, Breakfast at Tiffany's.  Each guest left with an Audrey Hepburn bag filled with magazines, soap, spa socks, and stationery.  I forgot to take photos of the gift bags!  AND my amazing friends left me with gifts galore as you can see in the photo above and below!

  Thank you, Bev!
 Thank you, Carol!
 Thank you, Cindy!
 Thank you, Judy!
 Thank you, Maria!
 Thank you, Anita and Kaaren!
 Thank you, Kay!
 Thank you, Laurence!
Thank you, Sue!
Thank you, Lynn!
WOW, what a fantastic day filled with laughter and memories!  Balloons on the floor...a sure sign that the party's over...until next year!
