When I reached for the remote control hidden in a pink box, I had to laugh.
This is REAL LIFE! Everywhere I looked there were toys! On my shabby couch, on my shabby ottoman and inside my shabby box. There was no place to relax in our shabby living room. Our youngest son of 4 years is our reminder that a shabby home is not a home without toys in abundance on every pink surface. His toys are always underfoot, but his innocence and candor keep us humble and true to what is important in life.
I am hearing you on this one! My house is always the same :) Very cute all the cars lined up!!
ReplyDeleteLove how everything is lined up. Who won the war?? The green or cream side.
ReplyDeleteYou live in the real world. How great that your gorgeous shabby chic home is a fun place to play. Sad that some peoples homes are more a showpiece than a home.

Love your post! My 3 year old is "styling" my hair as I'm reading your blog - she spotted the grapes in your remote control box and was so excited because she has them too! Oh that play food.... sometimes it just drives me bonkers! I love how my girls toys that end up everywhere, keeps me "real" too! Thanks for sharing!

How sweet! I raised 4 boys....and the one thing I learned is....It really hurts to step on legos in your bare feet!

I just discovered your blog and love it!!! Such beautiful pink things! So cute about your son's toys everywhere...I don't have children but you can frequently find my little Cairn Terrier, Renoir's, doggie toys EVERYWHERE! Hehe...
ReplyDeleteHI!
ReplyDeleteI have to laugh at the contrast of the whole Shabby Chic image with the "war room" plan in your room!
My son used to refer to my front living room as "the pink room" when the only thing pink was a couch I had years ago re-upholstered. At the age of about 2 he took his peanut butter sandwhich and bit it into a gun shape and "shot it"!!! He had never seen a gun before to my knowledge!
I love your beautiful "pink toy room"!!

Mary

He would be all over it......We have in progress Lego projects and just randomly strewn legos all over the house....and can't forget the million Thomas the train things....Hope all is well with you! I fell and bruised my tailbone last week and have been out of sorts for a while. I'm finally catching up with blog post and visiting everyone...Talk to you soon! Karin
